Colorado Springs Engagement Session
Chris and Dylan immediately took to my idea of taking their engagement photos at Paint Mines in Calhan, Colorado. After looking through various photos of the area they were hooked. To me Paint Mines looks like mars, the closest thing that I’ve seen to this is the Badlands in South Dakota. Arriving around sunset we were able to fully utilize the colorful landscape that the Interpretive Park has to offer.
Next year Chris and Dylan will be getting married in Belize and coming back and having a party for their friends in Denver at Skylight.
Tips for your Paint Mines engagement session
If you’re going to have your engagement photos taken at the Paint Mines here are a few tips that I would recommend before heading down there.
- First things first make sure you have a full tank of gas if you’re driving there from Denver. It is slightly secluded and you’ll be on a long stretch of road before you get there.
- Bring a change of clothes for your session. One to get dirty and have fun in and, one to look your best. The rocks here are really white so a pop of color always works great.
- Park in the SECOND parking lot if you want to have a short walk to the main area of the Paint Mines. The first one is just a little longer of a walk and give you a view from a far of the whole area before getting into it.
- Liquids. Bring a hydro flask full in case you get thirsty during the photo session.
