Being a Mount Evans engagement photographer can sometimes be tricky when judging on whether or not you should chance the weather. This was one of those times where it called for rain all day, but we headed out anyways. I’m really glad we did go out. While we might have had a few sprinkles at the beginning that had us looking for cover, overall the rain stayed away and add a dramatic sky for our session.

Our time together started at Echo Lake. We walked around the lake to check out a few locations I had scouted out earlier in the week. Luckily for us with the call for rain the area was empty for the most part. After taking our time snapping photos around the lake we started our journey up the Mount Evans, the highest paved road in the US. Along the way we pulled over to a few locations that I couldn’t drive past. At one of these stops the clouds opened up in the most magnificent way.

I’ve got to give it up to Alice & Juel it is not warm at the top of Mount Evans, which reaches above 14,000ft. Regardless of the time of year its chilly. This day was no exception with all of the cloud coverage and light rain, but they trudged through without showing any signs of being uncomfortable. At the top which on a warm day is sitting around 60, we ran around on the cliffs edge taking photos that would make your mom scream “GET DOWN FROM THERE” it was awesome. At the end Alice and Juel popped a can of their favorite beer from Joy Ride Brewery. Joy ride is walking distance for them and they frequently go here for date nights with their favorite dag to chill with, Penny.

Alice and Juel will bet getting married this coming spring in 2019 at Denver Colorado’s newest wedding venue Skylight, located in the Santa Fe Arts district and I can’t wait to be there to capture all of the fun!

Mount Evans, known for being one of Colorado’s 58 fourteeners, is a hot spot location for engagement photos for couples seeking other worldly views, with easy accessibility.
